LANGKAWI
Langkawi, located at state of Kedah, is a cluster of 99 islands separated from mainland Malaysia by the Strait of Malacca. Currently only four of the 99 islands are inhabited, which are Langkawi the main island, Tuba, Rebak and Dayang Bunting. Langkawi island was given a World Geopark status by UNESCO, with main conservation areas at Machincang Cambrian Geoforest park, Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park. This three parks are full with tourist and are popular tourist destinations for international travelers.
To enter the island, visitors can travel via ferry from Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis, and Penang or by domestic flight to Langkawi International Airport (LGK/ WMKL).

The ferry terminal is called Kuala Kedah Jetty where it operates high speed boats crossing the Malacca Strait heading to Langkawi and the journey takes an approximate time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. From Kuala Perlis takes around 2 hours journey and the longest ride is from Penang which requires 3 hours.

When is the best time to visit Langkawi?
The weather in Langkawi is constantly hot and humid throughout the year. We recommend to visit Langkawi between February to April. Tourist flow normally starts from end of October to April. Try to avoid September to October as this is the rainy season in Langkawi.
